Are you planning to sell your home? Have you ever stopped to wonder what the best season of the year is to make a move?

The truth is, any season is a good season to sell, and the fall is no exception. Here are just some of the reasons why selling in the fall can be beneficial:

#1 Strong Buyer Demand

For starters, buyer demand is still strong, which means there will be plenty of interested buyers out there to market too, making it much easier to sell. Buyers are coming back from summer holidays and may be ready to make a move before the holiday season sets in.

This year is a bit unique as well. With the health crisis having affected the real estate market this past spring, buyers who may have put a hold on their plans to buy a home earlier this year are coming out of the woodworks. The real estate market in the summer has been string as a result, and that buyer activity is expected to remain strong throughout the fall season this year as well.

That means there is a lot of demand from buyers, which puts sellers in a very lucrative position to command a higher price and sell in a short period of time.

#2 Less Competition

There’s also less competition among sellers, which means your home won’t be lost in the crowd and will be more likely to stand out to buyers. Sellers often try to have their homes sold by spring or summer before the school year begins, so you may be competing with fewer sellers when you list in the fall.

When there is less competition among sellers, there’s less reason to have to accept a lower price to realize a successful transaction. And with fewer seller son the market means more buyers vying for your home. And when that happens, you can sell in a shorter period of time and for a higher price point.

#3 Great Time to Move Up

Now is a great time to move up, especially as home prices have increased over the years. There’s a good chance that you’ve built up equity in your home, so you have a lot to put towards a new home purchase.

The proceeds from the sale of your home can help put more money in your pocket.

#4 Time to Move On

And if you’re contemplating selling, maybe now is the time to move on with your life and make the change that you likely need! Whether you’re looking for a bigger home to house a growing family, want to downsize as the children leave the nest, or are simply looking for a change in location for work or any other reason, selling now can help you make the change you’re looking to make.
