Rising Home Prices Result in Higher Loan Limits

Every year, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) reviews the FHA loan limits is all counties in the nation and compares them to the average home price in each location. For the most part, the loan limits are increased every year in an effort to keep up with an increase in home prices. This is exactly what happened from 2019 to 2020 with FHA loan limits in Idaho.

In December 2019, the HUD announced that it would be increasing Idaho FHA loan limits for 2020.

These changes are a response to the home-price gains that took place throughout 2019. In Idaho, property values across all counties have risen steadily in recent years. According to Zillow, a real estate information company, the median home price for Idaho increased by an astounding 11.2% from December 2018 to December 2019. As a result, FHA loan limits for Idaho are up for 2020.
